A little getaway – Malmaison London

After lots of working hard recently, for both myself and my boyfriend – MC, we decided to book ourselves a little treat in the form of a night in town. We’ve been dying to go to the Malmaison for a while and had originally planned to spend a night or two in the Newcastle venue over Christmas. However, things being busy as ever we figured we wouldn’t have the time, so a little last minute October getaway was the key!

The hotels ooze glamour and style and with fifteen hotels across the country they really are a little growing empire of boutique hotels! The London hotel is based in Clerkenwell, which makes it the perfect venue for a city night out. Myself and MC love exploring what the city has to offer, but often the last train back to Richmond isn’t late enough and it’s definitely a more relaxing weekend with a stop over. We stayed earlier in the year at The Grange St Pauls, and the area around has so many quirky bars and restaurants, we decided there was definitely more exploring needing to be done.

So, we booked their Standard Double room, not the smallest they offer but upon arrival it was definitely tight! The price came in at £219 for the night, which in comparison to some of the other hotels I’ve stayed at in town is a fair bit more expensive, especially for the size of the room. However, the service, bar, comfort of the bed and sheer coolness of the hotel more than made up for it. Upon arrival the reception were more than helpful in finding us parking and answering any questions and throughout the stay the staff were all very friendly. In terms of location, it certainly couldn’t be better for what we needed so definitely a big plus point.

I have to say – Malmaison – I was not dissapointed! I’d love to try out the others in the country, especially the one in Oxford which looks unreal. Hopefully I’ll be updating you shortly on a stay there.
